As part of the events dedicated to the Day of Russian Science and the Decade of Science and Technology, on February 17-18, 2023, a workshop for school research projects in the field of biotechnology “BIOTECH PROJECT WORKSHOP” was held in the full-time format of the Yakut Scientific Center for Complex Medical Problems together with the biotechnological laboratory of the Yakutia Technopark. The event took place at the address: Yakutsk, Truda str., 1, 4th floor. The experts were the scientific staff of the YANC KMP.
The purpose of the event: to increase the attractiveness of research and project activities in the field of biotechnology and medicine among students of secondary educational institutions by providing advisory and scientific and methodological support.
Objectives of the event: 1) the development of creative, business activity and scientific growth of young researchers; 2) the realization of the scientific potential of young researchers; 3) improving the quality of research projects.
The workshop included individual scientific and methodological consultations on the planning and design of the experimental part of research, the expansion of students’ ideas about modern scientific trends and trends in biology and medicine; lectures on modern presentation design and methods of effective presentation of information.
15 pupils of grades 10-11 from different schools of Yakutsk took an active part: the specialized educational and scientific center – the University Lyceum of M.K. Ammosov NEFU (SESC NEFU), SBSE RS(Ya) Republican Boarding Lyceum, Yakut City Lyceum and P.N. and N.E. Samsonovs secondary school . The students’ projects were devoted to various fields of biology, starting with cellular technologies and ending with agrobiotechnological research. During the lunch break, a delicious lunch was organized for the students.
The students received recommendations from experts on the further development of their research projects. The atmosphere of the workshop was friendly, interesting, informative and very much liked the young researchers. We wish our participants further success in their studies and research activities.
